Hello - I thought I introduce myself, my names Todd (37) I'm in IT and I love tinkering with things (to see how they work and make them perform better than OEM standards ~ I mean who here hasn't tweaked Microsoft or tried to speed up their computer a bit !)
Anyhow I recently bought my first ever Pug without ever even seeing it (brother-in-law was off on an urgent posting overseas).
He told me it was 2003 4-0-something and it was a manual 1.8 diesel 'rapier estate' with 80K on the clock. Picked it up (from airport) and was delighted to see it was actually a silver 406 2.0 HDI with the 110 sticker on drivers door pillar - good so far so I thought. The V5 arrived stating it as a 'rapier' even though it had 'S' badges on the font wings but after some internet searches, I realised rapiers were now called 'S' models, as it has the 16" multispokes, cd stacker, sat nav, auto a/c...
Having given up a '55 A3 2.0 TDI (138bhp) company car, at first I was disappointed with the performance drop.
Then after much trolling this and many other peugeot websites, I knew something could / had to be done!
First I flushed and renewed all fluids, replaced filters(fuel/oil), checked codes etc as it had been sitting a while.
Last week I purchased and installed a PSI Powerbox, Green Cotton Dynatwist Air Induction Kit and powerflow exhaust system and boy what a difference it has made !
I'd have to say the ride is a lot softer (but nice like a SIII Jag my Dad once owned) and the gearing takes a bit of getting use to, especially after the Audi's 6spd box but it now puts a huge smile on my face as I watch the turbo/speedo take flight !
Next week the 18" rims and CAT1 alarm are going on/in so I look forwards to sharing tips and photo's with everyone, that's as long as yawl don't mind a bit of aftermarket tuning & styling butchering your scene!

Sounds great!
Be careful with 18'' wheels though, most on here will say you will ruin the ride comfort and the car may 'track' the road
If you're really keen on the modded thing then 17''s and a 40mm drop seem to be in order. Niz on here has that set up and it seems about the best by all accounts whilst still maintaining a decent amount of rubber on the rims.

sounds like a nice car, i love the S spec models
one thing i would point out though, i would ditch the Powerbox for a custom remap as you will see more power and it wont kill the HP pump

Yes, at first I contemplated the remap option, but my rationale for getting the PSI Powerbox was this:
- It wasn't the 'single plug' common rail HP type (but newer multiplug version that digitally each injector opening timing)
- It doesn't screw around with turbo or other expensive components i.e. MAF, ECU, Pump, etc (until I know they're OK)
- It was very very quick and cheap ebay purchase (as it was described 'off a Suzuki XL7 2.0 TD' )
- It was extremely easy to fit (honestly less than 5 minutes)
- It's ADJUSTABLE to increase or ease off power delivery (if I find clutch starts slipping for example)
- Finally it's removable and resellable (if I later remap or ditch the car)
Also I got put off by many 'cheap' £200 remappers who didn't have access to a rolling road but offer instead off "generic" engine management maps (borrowed from god knows where !). However, upon talking knowledgable tuners they suggested I complete my mods first then FINISH with a final custom remap on a rolling road, rather than having to continually go back and pay each time for map alterations.
Again all I can say is WOW what a difference it has made, smoother delivery of actual power (20% more torque) and I'm able to keep in high-gears whilst putting around town.
I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone for the reasons outlined above !!!

A remap is still better. Dr Derv will sort your car out to its peak.

Just go for the 18"....I´ve got a set of those stored under my bed.Some lowering will be required to keep everything in balance. The car will have the SUV -look with the original suspension. You should definately get a coilover set under your car. Koni´s got high quality coilovers and so does KW. They´re a bit expensive I guess, but it´ll pay off when driving a serpentine tarmac road... A bit more lowering to the front and it´ll be a knock-out...(I´m turning on by just the though of it...
)

You've probably seen my old wheels for sale here on the forums (with photos of my new rims) but just in case !
PS I don't think the standard ride height looks too SUV with these size wheels filling the gaps ?
