Indicator stalk

ok boys and girls this is the stalk that was provided with the peugeot foglight kit

i got off fleabay to replace my old ones.What i would like to know is what the

push button on the end operates,i have one on mine but it is blanked off

and cant be pushed

Is the button on the end something to do woth the trip computer?

Have wondered that Dai and my trip computer is on my wiper stalk i just wondered

if i fitted this stalk if something else would start to work did think mine

looked nothing like a com 2000 when i saw a piccie

That's a D8 stalk. Won't work with a D9 com2000 setup since it's electrical not electronic. The button is the horn.

The D8 trip computer button is at the end of the other (wiper) stalk. Unfortunately for me they never made a stalk with rear wipers, auto front wipers, and a trip computer button...

Oh yeah! I totally forgot that the horn was on the stalk on the D8.

Yes they do and so does the wiper staik and that has trip computer

rear wash wipe and auto wipers on it

Hmm just checked out the pug servicebox site and discovered there is actually a non-multiplex D9 setup! The wiper stalks are the same parts though:

CONTROL SWITCH -
6239 61 - FRONT WIPER BLADE W/O RAIN SENSOR AND ESTATE
6239 A7 - FRONT WIPER BLADE WITH RAIN SENSOR AND ESTATE

The light stalk is different though. The D9 has these options whereas the D8 only has one (6253 68):

CONTROL SWITCH
6253 74 - NO FRONT FOG LIGHTS AND WITHOUT NAVIGATION SYSTEM
6253 75 - FRONT FOG LIGHTS AND WITHOUT NAVIGATION SYSTEM
6253 81 - WITH NAVIGATION SYSTEM AND NO FRONT FOG LIGHTS
6253 82- WITH NAVIGATION SYSTEM AND FRONT FOG LIGHTS

Multiplexing only started on the D9 in 2002, so the 1999 to 2001/2 cars are normally wired albeit to a central BSi for most of the body control functions.

*edited to say that with the introduction of multiplexing came the introduction of sporadic engine bay fires
