
Right, fired by my unintentional success with the D8's handbrake, I put the D9 up in the air, took the back wheels off, pulled the handbrake up two notches and wound the cable adjuster up until the disks got too hard to turn with one hand, then did up the lock nut. Balls to Haynes and balls to the adjusters 'cos they're pretty much locked on 5 notches.
Like the D8, the handbrake is quite stiff but I reckon before, when it had 8 notches 7 of them were slack.
I also took the liberty of shoving as much grease as possible around the cable adjuster and that slot where the cable is visible.
