how much would you spend....

Post by 110 »

on your car before you thought it was time to trade in and let someone else pick up the pieces...
i say this because when i bought my car last sunday it was on the understanding that the old bloke came up with the service history and few small bills he said he had mislaid so i was surprised to recieve them this morning and upon browsing through them i found the small bills he was on about,
and here they are..all main dealer invoices i should add.
july 2007..eml light on £48.00..fair enough
july 2007 eml light on again..£48.00
august 2007.replace ecu,configure and clear faults..£891.86
august 2007.service and timing belt and timing belt kit..£362.31
september 2007..replace low pressure fuel pump..£295.97
october 2007..replace front link rods, rear tie bar links and mot test..£223.35

so considering i bought the car for £800 i think i did quite well and the service history is fully stamped but seems like he spent an awful lot on the car then let it go for less than he had spent on it.oh and he bought another 406 so he must love them.

Bejesus  no summer holiday for him then

Relace ECU  typical main dealer, waste of money.

yeah that`s what i thought, maybe they had fleeced him enough already and were starting to feel a wee bit sorry for him or maybe it`s the fact that we live in a backwater hick town where the average labour charge (non franchised) is £20-£25 per hour.
