D8 Foglight installation

I'm looking at installing standard foglights onto my D8 1.9 TD. The blanks are there in the front bumper, so that part should be simple enough.

The question is: where are they controlled from the cabin. Will I need to source an indicator stalk with foglight controls (I'm thinking the right hand one?)or is it activated by a button on the dash?

Any help appreciated.

It's a stalk I'm afraid, the left-hand lighting one. I think you'll also need a relay.

Ok thanks - there's a D8 in my ocal scrappy that was an exec spec, so it should have all the necessary kit.

relay is an oblong 1 goes next to the same one in the rear left hand side. Black in colour.

I take it you mean that it goes next to the rear foglight relay in the rear left light cluster, or is it hidden behind the boot lining?

EDIT - Cancel that last - just found the near identical thread in electrical which answers that question!

No-the relays are under the steering wheel in the drivers foot well-couple of pop studs pull down the lining & the relays are in there-right under the fusebox.

Thanks for that advice - it looks like all that's needed are the two fuses in the engine bay fuse-box, the relay, the switch (lower RHS of dash next to headlight controls) and the fogs themselves.

Should make driving on Devon's back roads a bit easier.

The switch is on a stalk-it replaces the side/headlight stalk,cars already pre-wired.

fuses are present too.

If you are scourcing from a breakers-dont forget the fixing brackets & screws too-see also my handy hint for fixing them & springs too.

While we are talking about Fogs - I would like to 1/2 hijack this thread if you don't mind....and maybe save you some cash

I don't think they are actually worth retro fitting! - I have them as standard on my 2.1GLX.

I thought that they would be great in actual FOG and also useful to scare the DEER/PHEASANTS/BADGERS away from our Wiltshire lanes but NO

All they seem to do is light up the hedge for about 2 Metres in front of the car....

As a grumpy old bastard, my understanding of Fogs was that they were supposed to cast a long, low beam along the road - while NOT dazzling other users on Foggy days. All mine do is light up the hedge

Maybe mine are poorly set-up but as far as I can tell they are more about posing for the boy racers - I would be pleased to hear from someone who can tell me that I am wrong

Must be the adjustment,mine light up the road OK. most of my driving is on narrow winding lanes -they suit me fine.

Nah fogs are supposed to cast a short but wide pattern, to give you extra peripheral vision. They're supposed to light the ground close to the front of the car and the edges of the road, so that even in very thick fog you can see where the ditch is so you don't go in it .

I'll be digging into an exec spec D8 in my local scrappies today (if they're open) to see what they want for a set with all ancils and will see what beam they put out when fitted. If it's of little benefit then they'll go on E-Bay, so it'll be relatively painless if they are no good.

However, the Peugeot book states the foglights need to be aligned, similar to headlights, so maybe yours just need to be checked?
