Citroen Saxo power steering prob

Post by nipper76 »

Hiya peeps

ok i know its not a Pug, but they use the same parts as far as i know (citroen + Peugeot)

basicly my brother in law has brought a 1.1i from ebay, got it home, and we noticed the power steering wasnt working.... i.e it mite as well not have powersteering.

wot could the possible problems be??

could it need bleeding ??
or would it be more likely to be the pump??

many thanks for any info

it does have power steering, the rservoir is bolted to the slam panel. 9 times out of 10 its the complete pump unit thats at fault. they cost a pretty packet new aswell. :(

Last time this happened on my dad's 106, it was the alternator that packed up, causing PS failure.
