Does your HDi smell of Diesel fuel in engine bay

I keep detecting a smell of Diesel especially after a fast run in the car. You can smell it around the front of the car and when you open the door sometimes.

There's no obvious signs or symptoms of a fuel leak but the turbo leaks oil and I'm wondering if it's the oil itself that smells of Diesel if that's possible?

I've had the engine cover off and had a good sniff around but can't seem to locate anything in particular, although it's stronger at the back of the engine.

Any ideas?

No but sometimes mine smells of diesel too, I can't see any leaks or anything but it's bugging me. If yours does too then maybe it's a "feature" and I can stop worrying.

I've had other diesels in the past that have had a wiff of diesel about them , perished pipes etc
but never had the slightist hint of it on the 406

My HDi hasn't ever smelled of diesel, but on my old 2.1TD, every now and again, a fuel return pipe would perish. A £1 and 5 minute job.

Not sure if the HDi has these as I have to admit since I've had this car, I've left working on it to the experts (and occasionally a Peugeot dealer)

hi mine smelt of diesel and the was leaking on the ground but not much just a little patch so got it checked out and it ended up being the common fuel rail which was leaking.

Mine has never smelled of diesel but then it might be masked by the smell of cow poo as I work in the countryside
