The A30-M4 stretch is impossible now. One of my customers has a mate on the force and the trigger speed varies from 78-88. Apparently.steve_earwig wrote:That was mine too. There weren't any 5 years ago tho. RPG anyone?

Re: Good deal or not??
Hi trem1,
Well I have the car sat on the drive. Seems ok (goes off to find a piece of wood too touch) a few things I have noticed the clutch seems high to me but I cannot see any signs of slipping so hopefully just needs adjusting
. And the car does not seem to have as much pull when accelerating compared to my dad’s SW (this could just be me looking for problems) so I have filled the tank full (large whole in pocket) and put some redex injector cleaner in it (not sure this will do fook all), as it has been sat doing nothing for a while. And by the looks of the service history has been driven by an old man.
2,700 – First Interim Service
12,000 – Second Full service
21,000 – Third Interim Service – Which i have just had done
The engine bay is spotless, just hope the clutch is ok. But will have the mechanic take a look tomorrow.
Thanks,
Andy

my clutch starts to bite about half way up and thats with the new clutch fitted (dont want to worry you but a test drive aint enough to get it warm needs about 40 mile on a motorway)xplosiv wrote:Hi trem1,

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Here's a thought: is there a specific club for 407s yet?

Back here, it would appear. I guess someone's already had the same idea, and why not?

Re: Good deal or not??
Hi,
The car's performance is fine must have been me or it just needed a drive (3rd gear and foot down does leave you with a massive smile on your face), just topped the water bottle up for the washers and the engine bay looks like it has just rolled of the factory floor. I think the clutch is fine starting at low revs in 4th and 5th and floor it to 50/60 and no slipping at all. i still think the clutch bit's a little high although i am use to driving the 6 which had some many clutch problems, i hope all is ok here (i have read a few posts in forums about clutch problems but then that is a total of 10 posts in 4-5 years since the 407 was released). The parking sensors work very well and were well worth getting fitted.
I will still get a mechanic to check it out for me and if needed get it back to the dealer. have to say the dealer i got the car from has been very good so far even put £20 of fuel in while i was waiting to fill in all the forms

Thanks
Andy

Re: Good deal or not??
Both my 407's have been fine. Generally, they seem far better than the 406 and, to be fair, of the 11 Peugeots I've owned I've never suffered an electrical fault.
