AntiPollution defective

Post by Jimmy »

Hello,

Last night around midnight after coming back from lincoln my trip computer says i have 24miles left of fuel... well it's only 15miles to the 24hour tesco so i turned off the A/C to save some fuel..... However with my rule of luck the car spluttered and died on a hill 15min walk from tesco. Get there buy a can... get told by the petrol pump lady that it didnt look like a proper container suitable for fuel  never the less I gave a in depth presentation on the forcort that this was infact a suitable item to use for fuel as it comes with a tube etc. got 6ltrs of ..... funny coloured fuel, had a very pronounced yellow tint to it.

Anyway, Get back to the car looking very suspect carrying a can of fuel through the streets at midnight, not even the local chavs dare approach me.
Fill her up, start her and Beep beep beep "AntiPollution Defective" On the screen.

What's this about? Running out of fuel mean i have to get something reset or changed? It keeps bleeping while i drive it.

Thanks

Bac luck running out at that time :(

Diesel's normally blueish :?

Anyway - the anti pollution light is on because the common rail pressure sensor has detected a loss (you ran out) it just thinks something's wrong with the whole fuelling thing.

I can't remember if a battery disconnect will sort this out or not but worth a try as there is no side effects to dissing the battery on these.

yea i thought it was ment to be blueish aswel, maybe it was and the yellow lights above and the grey can gave it a funny colour..... or maybe somone pissed in the tanker...

I'll try that, it's getting less and less often it do it now, the amber light on the dash has gone now. So as you say Welton, it's pointing at the pressure sensor, and i think it's come back to normal pressure it's self.

Maybe that's how these petrol stations increase their profits......they get all the staff to piss in the storage tanks and water it down a bit
