1. fix the bad connection on the button (sh*t maplins scotch-locks)
2. add wires 13 and 14 on the original computer connector, cut the fuel gauge wire and solder the computer in-line
3. Find a way through the bulkhead
4. Find 1368 (can't get near the wires on the ecu plug on this one, so might have to take the battery out)
You've had a fun day then
Those circuit diagrams were a good find!

Could have been better. Bloody rain and snow stopped me getting under the bonnet for long and the sub-zero temperature combined with the need to have the windows open because of the solder fumes (love my butane iron!) made it quite unpleasant.

Also I need a new lower steering column cover because I managed to break off the screw hole at the back. Not urgently as I have the steering pulled up high so it's held at the top, but it moves about a heck of a lot when it's not at the top :(

The wiring's also nowhere near as neat as the last time I did it - the extra wires I'm putting it would make it a little difficult to braid anyway. Think I'll just zip tie it together at regular intervals when I'm done, and zip-tie the excess up.

Just really hoping I can get at 1368 and get it through the bulkhead without too much trouble.

If you want a grand tourer then try my 406 Estate V6.........wickedly fast with room to put the QE2 in the boot!!!

I'd start saving your pennies though coz running a V6 is not cheap, I can even fill mine now as the Tesco pump stops at £60........and i'm getting 350 miles maybe 400 if very lucky on a motorway run!!

The V6 has the same sized fuel tank as the rest of the range. 350 miles/tank is 22.7mpg which means you must have been in bad traffic or holding around 130-140mph... My ES9J4 V6 will do 38.7mpg on cruise control at 70mph, which is just under 600 miles. I imagine the VVT on the ES9J4S should enable it to go even further

I took mine on a brisk drive over the peak district the other weekend and found it considerably cheaper than it was to do the same drive in the turbo exec. And a hell of a lot more fun
