Have you got the "recirc" on? What model is it? Does it have Climate Control? Any signs of the carpets being wet?

Fix the leak (I'd guess that it's either from the rear light cluster, or Edward Scissorhands has had a go at the water shedder in the nsr door), then fix the air con and robert will be your fathers brother 8)

Not sure mate, most of the peeps on here who've had that problem on here have simply gone at it with a tube of silicone sealant.

The problem is you turning the a/c off. The rules of physics say if you've got humidty and heat on one side of a piece of glass, and cold on the other side, it's going to mist up. Putting the a/c on has the effect of drying the air coming out of the vents, alleviating the problem.

406s with climate control automatically turn it on and off, and vary the fan speed due to temperature, sunlight and humidity sensors. It still helps to put it manually on full blast with aircon first thing on a cold morning though :)

my 406 has same problem, didnt know what it was and just lived with it. Until one day got a flatty and on removing the spare wheel, the recess in which the wheel sits in was about 6inches in water, bad times!so obviously tail gate leaking! check that out mate.
