What's the best way to kill a mouse?

Post by Welly »

I've got a mouse in my office and it's a real crafty bastard :x I've seen it a few times but the *slightest* noise sends it running away

Believe it or not it's even living behind what would be the skirting! (if the dry lining was finished  )

I've put down some Rentokil Rodine rodenticide (anti coagulant) which it has been eating but I understand it might take a week for it to suffer massive internal bleeding from it's (usually insignificant) knocks and scrapes. At this very moment it is literally "inside" a half-opened bag of Rentokill and is munching away merrily

The thing is, once dead - is it going to stink the place out in a rotting, maggot infested heap? or should I buy a mouse trap and remove it? [read: throw dead mouse over next door fence].

Editted to say: I've just opened my Sandwiches (packed by Mrs Welly) and they are f*cking Cheese!!!!!!

They do mouse glue here, put it in a circle on a bit of cardboard with something tasty in the middle and leave it for a day or so. The poor little buggers get stuck to it and either starve to death (if you're lazy) or what I usually do is fold the cardboard in half then drop a brick on it. Cruel I know, but they're a real problem here.

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

I don't know if cats are hard enough for today's mice are they? anyway for a cat to catch a mouse that would have to involve the cat being awake long enough

Cats are nocturnal so they do most of their thing at night.

the best way to kill a mouse is to give it to kids they'll pull the cord and drop it and push peanut butter sarnies in it till your pc gives up and it stops working

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh wrong mouse

i'm liking the brick idea from steve nothing like a happy crunch to make the day go quicker
only problem is if it squishes then it's a swine to clear up
by the sound of it your rentokill stuff will do the trick and then put a cat in there to find the remains

You too huh? At my other half's the neighbours don't seem to have an ounce of common decency, the grandfather spends whole afternoons hammering god-knows-what in his shed - bang, bang, bang... I think maybe he's stamping out coins. I once drove over the grass in front of their garden, which is actually common land (the neighbours the other side had a big pile of earth delivered so I couldn't get out the usual way) when I came back I saw the old bugger hammering a post in so I couldn't do it again.

The kids seem to get whatever they want so long as it's noisy or dangerous, they have all sorts of alarms they set off all the time, they have an amplifier that they play distorted music and scream through (they played the Croatian football theme continuously until Croatia lost to Turkey, haha); they get masses of bangers for new years, so many they let them off through most of the year too - they also have some sort of metal bucket they chuck them in so they're much louder; they have air rifles and pellet guns they shoot birds with (I found out they had them when a mysterious hole appeared in one dog, I thought it looked just like an air rifle pellet but I didn't think anyone had one, then we were in the garden and a pellet whistled past over our heads, so my other half stormed round there and they had one each but it wasn't the kids firing at us, it was the dad! Then a small round hole appeared in her house...) Croatians as a whole are a pretty decent bunch apart from these idiots, who I call The Gumbies.

Her solution? Do nothing that might create trouble  Mine? Not sure, I can't do much here as I'm under close scrutiny but I have a feeling their house may spontaniously combust at some point. I'm also looking out for a big engine so I can do something like this with it when they start pi$$ing me off.

F#ck the mouse, what's the best way to kill annoying neighbours?
