Alreet Everyone?

Post by GeordieBoy »

So hows everyone's car going then? My Vectra SRi v6 is for sale if anyone wants it.

I bought last week a 1996 N reg BMW 328i with 189k miles on the clock. Just had it on rolling road and it got 183bhp / 208lbs torque, thats only lost 13bhp but gained 2lbs torque since new. Not bad for a 12yr old car with 189k miles. Was also run on normal unleaded, gonna try V Power soon as price of petrol is coming down now.

Car pics if anyone cares like lol:- http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j74/G ... MW%20328i/

Hello fella!

We're still here, plodding along :)

A quick googly suggests the 1996 328i has (had) 190BHP and 207 torques so you're only down by 7 which can even be down to fuel, a hot day, the rolling road, or a partially blocked air filter etc.

The straight 6 is a nice engine for sure.

My 406 is behaving itself at the moment but is crying out for a brake service and two front tyres :(

Welly.

Has the interior fallen to pieces yet?

Never was impressed by the build quality of the E36 - That's not saying they aren't a good car! They are bloody nice and handle very well once you start tinkering with the suspension, so much flatter than a 406 through a set of twisties!

BTW - Get rid of the M3 wheels and get a nice set of Alpinas!

Congrats on the purchase! :cheesy:

The interior is mint, quite a surprise with 189k on the clock, only tell tale signs of mileage is a worn steering wheel and gearknob.
lol at not being impressed with build quality, anything is better than a french, German build quality is immense espec in E36 form,

Certainly better than the E46 that replaced it - these had a nasty habit of ripping the axle mounting points out of the boot floor on 323 and 328's due to cost cutting.

Yeah I heard about the E46's, they started to get a bit greedy and cut costs. Older Beemers are by far the best, built to last if taken care of.
