Breather Pipe

Post by Al4xand4r »

Hi,

When I was getting the tracking done (and failed) I noticed that there was a small dia 6-10mm pipe hanging off the front of the engine I asked the mech techs and they said it was a breather pipe - I'm kinda suspicious on this one as it looked quite long and didn't have a filter.

Thanks already

Al

Edit to say bit quick on the submit button and that my new love is a 01 hdi 90 - thought that might help a touch :D

There's pipes hanging off these cars everywhere  You're probably going to have to tell us where the other end is ;)
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

mjb is right - the 406's engine bay looks like an explosion in a rubber hose factory, who's neighbour happened to be a electrical wire factory, which also exploded!

A picture or some more info would be in order I think.

Welcome btw.

looks like the filter drain pipe to me. should find its "attached" to the drain plug on the housing

They are fitted so that you can drain the filter without getting fuel everywhere. great idea, but the x's 206 had one and it just like to fall off everytime you drained the filter  .

The 406 and a small bowl was much better.
