I don't often drive our 406 (GF uses it mainly), but I recently noticed the temp was sitting at around 70 whilst driving, and at idle it barely managed to get over 80. Is that normal or a bit low? Top hose was hot and heater giving warm air.

my d8 hdi 110 olny sits at 70 while driving so i wouldnt worry.

"Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

OK thanks - it just seemed low as I'm used the needle in my other car sitting bang in the middle of the gauge.

Can remember what temp it was, but I remember my old 2.1 was a cool runner. I remember changing the coolant on it in the winter and waiting for ages for the fan to come on but the car never got hot enough.

Same with mine, than I found the thermostat was missing...
Between 75 & 80 after a leasurly drive back from town, outside temp 13 degrees.

Had my 2.1TD now for 6 years and always ran at 85. Driven very gently 75/80. Pull a caravan up a mountain and 110 will show on gauge.
