Cured the coolant leak & other jobs!

Hey Everyone

Well, I received a huge box of bits from Niz on Friday (Thanks very much mate! )
Top hose, thermostat housing & stat, airbox, throttle linkage, rad fans, heated seat switch (!)

I changed the Rad & bottom hose back in the summer as these were like swiss cheese; but the leak moved on to the stat housing being the next weak point

Took it all apart and the seal around the thermostat literally disintegrated in my fingers, totally fecked. And a load of furry red sh1t where the coolant had been leaking out. Lovely.
The top hose had started ballooning and was quite perished so it needed doing!

I now have a totally sealed cooling system and two working rad fans!
On top of that I've done away with the cable ties and have a throttle linkage that doesn't fall off, and an airbox that I can unscrew the lid off!

I don't recommend re-filling the coolant and bleeding it all by torchlight though. By Christ it was cold!

Just got the PAS pump to change, Aux belt to change and the O/S strut bearing to replace

Oh, I went totally beserk as I was on a roll & soldered a replacement switch in the plip & bridged the broken track. I can unlock the car off the remote again!

Well done, just cured a leak myself, had to replace the water inlet hose. It's rusty end wouldn't go into the radiator properly. I resent having to take the wheel and the arch liner out but less than filling up the coolant before every journey.

Wow. When I changed my tubby's 'stat it took over an hour to get the thing out because while it was looking in reasonable nick, the seal around it had taken it upon itself to melt and seal everything together.
