Right, well, lets throw them into the deep end!

Lets all welcome

DaiRees, mjb and
teamster1975...

As a result, SPAM should now pretty much stop.

There is a downside though. Any new user who has less than 5 posts will have ALL posts placed in a "queue". These posts wont show up to everyone else apart from the Mods and Admins until there are at least 5 approved posts.

This means that anyone jumping onto the forums, spamming, then leaving, will see no posts. Anyone else wont notice a thing. New users will be advised they have to wait until their posts have been approved (should never take too long!).

There is a small downside though. This change is SYSTEM wide. That means EVERY forum has this restriction. Yeah, this means the Welcome forum. I'm working on a patch to fix this - but just now - I'm glad to cut down on the crap hitting this place.

On a side note - As with any site - 406oc.co.uk takes a dim view of anyone potentially damaging the forum, be it through hacking/cracking, abuse, or whatnot. Please remember that both Admins AND Mods have the ability to use the ban-hammer.

Although only one user has been banned from the forums, I'd like to remind everyone that I take a great pride in this place - as do the regular users, and i'm sure everyone is passionate about this site. Please. Play nice!

Nick

:D

Mods - Report in! I'll give you guys a heads up on how to use the new fangled system :D
Thanks,
Nick

Hi Nick!
I was surprised when I saw the new buttons! 8)
All seems pretty straight forward, was that you that put the "Imatester" posts on there?
Thanks for your trust, I'll do my best along with mjb & Dai :)

I would like to express my appeciation for the efforts of the Administrators in supporting the site for all of us and I'd also like to recognise the committment our new Moderators are prepared to make.

Hope I'm not speaking out of turn as a newcomer myself, I'm convinced the other members will feel the same.
