Re: He's just NOT that into you - True or False?
There's definetely lots of fellas who aren't blessed with masses of self confidencea & are too shy to ask girls out - the more attracted they are, the less likely they are to have the necesary 'bottle', so I don't agree with the writer.
Some blokes would be put off by being asked out, but the majority probably don't really know cos it's never happened.
(Just try getting one to admit it though).

Re: He's just NOT that into you - True or False?
I reckon that's probably not true, some blokes will see a girl as "out of their league" (even when they're not) and so never make that first move. Cor remember that gut wrenching sicky feeling as you approached the girl or picked up the 'phone, only too easy to find excuses not to (what will your mates say if she knocks you back? what will her mates say? your parents, her parents etc.....) glad all that's gone away 20 years ago!!!supafrisk wrote:Is it possible to be (as a guy) too shy to ask a girl out? Basically the writer says "IF a guy likes a girl enough, he'll call and ask her out, no matter if he's shy". Is it true?

Without trying too hard, I can think of only one married couple I know where the girl asked, no nagged, harranged and cajoled, the bloke into going out with her. They're now happily married with 2 kids.He says that men don't like to be asked out and that he doesn't know of any couples where the girl has done the asking and they've gone on to get married etc.

My reasoning was always "if I like her enough to want to go out with her, she's too good for me".
Then I met a girl on the intarwebs, went for a drink and two years later got married. Confidence is a wonderful thing to discover

The Wifely Person asked me out, and we're still together 7 years after getting married.
I am one of the "too-shy-to-ask" crowd (it's a BIG club, really).

I agree with steve and the others, the embarrassment (if done face to face )the feeling of
rejection, the blow to one's self-esteem and the "i wish the ground would open up and swallow
me " feeling put men off doing it.
Women asking men out and resulting in marriage, dont know any ,woman asking man
on a date yes.

Re: He's just NOT that into you - True or False?
I remember (just, as i was getting pissed) when i first met my girlfriend at a party i talked to her most of the night. At the end of the night when she was leaving she sort of hovered around before she left. Looking back now it was pretty obvious that she was waiting for me to ask her 'out'. But at the time you know how it is, i wasn't sure and i didn't want to look like a idiot/get rejected. Eventually she came to me and said "do you want my number so we can meet up again or what"

I remember as a teenager trying to ask girls out and always being told "I'd like to be your friend" or "I've already got a boyfriend"
You get told that a few times and it completely shatters your confidence. I completely agree with Steve, what a lot of b0llocks.

Re: He's just NOT that into you - True or False?
I've always been asked out it's probably down to a self confidence thing ...... like I don't have any when it comes down to ladies
sitting here thinking about it the only girl I ever asked out went out with me for 3 days then announced that she liked girls more ......
( apparently "can I watch/join etc.) is not the supportive thing to do
actually i think i could blame her for my massive issues ........

Well my Mrs Welly indoors asked me out, tracked me down through a previous address she used to know, AND arranged a Hotel stay for 2 nights within the first month so she could see if we were..err...'compitable' she said later that because she had come out of a long-termer with some numpty then if you can't 'get it on' upstairs then there's no point going out with each other (and who was I to complain about that arrangement)
We've been married 14 years this year and have 2 Tea Pot Lids.
I have never ever asked a Girl out, I always waited for them to ask me after *plenty* of eye contact and admiring glances/smiles on my part
You'll be pleased to know that mine and her indoors' sexual escapades have reduced to that of any normal married couple [read: none].

Re: He's just NOT that into you - True or False?
The biggest thing I suppose is that the man will genuinely show an interest in you by talking and actually wanting to know about you, what you've been doing etc, and even trying to help if your in the sh*t with something. This is a big thing for us cos if we're not interested then we stay well clear. Offering to help with something is a major step and usually means we want the oportunity to be with you and even gain brownie points if we can help fix whatever.
I like women with shaven-heads so I don't understand the 'twizzling' thing sorry.
One thing I notice a lot is women looking down at their own breasticals - can anyone shed any light on this behavior?

But they'e so noticeable though!
If a man had 2 fubblies poking out his chest you think women wouldn't look?
Soops, err, do women really think they KNOW the kinda size of a man's winkie just by gazing at his crutch area in general? see my winkie has variomatic length control so I don't know how this could be accurate?
