Did they really do D8 HDIs? As far back as '98?

Don't suppose, then, they do D9 TDs?

According to servicebox, the HDi110 (DW10ATED) was available in D8s, although not the other HDis and I don't know when from, and D9s didn't have a TD engine

As Matt says, the HDi came out a little before the D9, but AFAIK they all have HDi badges - that one on fleabay doesn't.
Interestingly, the 'new Hdi engine' ad I put on the Wiki shows a D9.
(My previous Xsara was a July 99 & I think about the first Cistern HDi)

2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Re: o.O
The D8 estates only have 'Peugeot' and '406' badges on the tailgate. The side badge can say pretty much anything - the tubby says 'Executive' or 'SRi' whereas the V6 Exec says 'V6'. The V6 GLX appears to say 'GLX' on the ones I've noticed...dogslife wrote:As Matt says, the HDi came out a little before the D9, but AFAIK they all have HDi badges - that one on fleabay doesn't.
The only thing to do is wait until the guy takes some more pics like he says he will. Wonder if this'll turn out to be the second D8.5 with pictorial evidence if it is a HDi - the newer ECU used by the engine may need the BSI setup.

Re: o.O
According to the car tax people ......
The vehicle details for S653 GVC are:
Date of Liability 01 01 2010
Date of First Registration 02 12 1998
Year of Manufacture 1998
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1997CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Heavy Oil
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Licence Not Due
Vehicle Colour BLUE
So it DOES look like its a HDi!

Seemed to be a AUS/NZ only model designation...Though the other Peugeot models of the same vintage had the same designations as the UK market with the 306 Style/XT/XSI etc!
