I'd take a lot of those reports with a pinch of salt. I've heard horror stories about HDI engines, and although these may have happened to few, they are generally uncommon.

I was very interested in a 156 SW a few years back, then I read on the owner's klub what goes wrong with them (MAF sensor as a consumable, more wishbones than Bernard Matthews), the final straw was the cost of the parts.
:( :( :( :( which engine is that Steve? Are we refering to the 156 or 159?

That was the 156 but, looking at HJ, not much has changed. I hope they got rid of the 156's fly open bonnet and "need for welly boots" waterproofing.

I think generally because the 406 is based around the D8 from 1996 then cars have move on quite a bit since and drive quite differently - the Volvo certainly forgives (or interupts) any poor driving with it's stability programme whatnot whereas the 406 would slap you in the face :) in other words any old numpty can drive a modern car and appear quite skilled at it :|
And whats happening with your old girl then Welton, any plans? (he says in a 'possibly interested buyers' tone of voice)

If you guys had the choice between a MX5, 406 Coupe or a E39 525i Sport - What would you get?

These are currently on my radar. MX5 for fun factor, 406 Koope for cruising and posing and the Bimmer for a combination of the two - though it would have the highest KM on the clock out of these...

Also a Renaultsport Clio 182 has come into the equation!

And no, I'm not selling the 406 - Donating it to another member of the family :)

Useless asking me that question

MX5 is an underpowered fun car that makes you look homosexual
525 is underpowered and makes you look like a cock
V6 Coupe is the dogs bollocks if you don't buy a lemon

What are you, nuts? I'd get the car I know most about (and that won't make me look like either a hairdresser or a wnaker)

Best not look at that read out too much...

If you need to change any bulbs, you pull the pointed bracket in the middle of the pic upwards....

Then the whole unit pops out and unplugs...

Thanks for watching

Nice colour. That's a good idea, tippy-out headlamps, is it the Renault were you have to take half the car apart to get to the bulbs?

Where's the one of its massive boot then? :P

Cheers, the headlights are a great idea it honestly takes no more than 15 seconds to have the whole unit out and in your hands

Pity there's not a "pull here to change Cambelt" thing

The boot is a bit weird - it's very 'long' but the entry/opening in not very deep. There is a nice flip up door thing in the boot floor where you can secure/strap in one or two shopping bags to stop them sliding about.
