HOW DO I FIT A BLEED VALVE???

I bought a bleed valve for my sri and have decided to fit it. I connected it to the pipe at the front of the throttle body straight to the actuator, it didnt seem to make any difference no matter how much i adjusted it?! So i then connected it to the pipe on the induction kit, this now gives me to much boost no matter how much i adjust it?!I have fitted blue vacuum hoses from halfords, could this be the problem if they are cheap and end up expanding/shringing to much when under load?
