Nice - do people now think you are the Rozzers every time you take it down the M6?

Very nice welly
so have you sold the 406 then?
Have to say I like the volvo mate
.
Just wondered what your thought were on the sabb 93?
Thanks Rappy?
Really fancy something different. Alfa is going to have to wait far to expensive. Like the Volvo's and can afford also the sabb. mmmmmmmmmm

All I know about Saab's is that they appeared to lose the magic they had in the 900 model in the late 80's (the Turbo) and are now a bit watered-down I suppose. They're based around GM cars now and seem to depreciate like a lap top
You won't be dissapointed with a Volvo I'm sure, why don't you take one out?

I drove a 9-3 Aero 2.0T recently and that was anything but watered down. It was a very fast car. I would imagine the Volvo to be better thoughWelton wrote:All I know about Saab's is that they appeared to lose the magic they had in the 900 model in the late 80's (the Turbo) and are now a bit watered-down I suppose. Funny you should say that though, I bought it off my Mum who at the time had her own hairdressers!

Re: Will you forgive me, I've bought another car...
I know I said I would never have another peugeot. Well!!! I have seen a few 407 coupe's for sale alot of car for the money mmmmmmmm It would be the V6 diesel of course
I just keep thinking back to the 406 coupe
what a complete let down of a car that was. So not sure.
I know MJB rates his
but for me the 406 saloon is far superior. The coupe hasd gorgeous looks dont get me wrong. But would i own one again never!!!. 407 GT coupe V6 twin turbo diesel not a great looking car to be honest but the spec and the reviews are very good.
Mrs Rappy is saying practical
I still think the alfa is the best of both worlds great looks 4 door saloon and a diesel. Also your Volvo welly I like its just the M.P.G.
I kinda think I will hang on for the alfa's to come down in price as I do like

The trouble with the 407 is they eat clutches.
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Re: Will you forgive me, I've bought another car...
I went to Skeggy at the weekend and got 35 mpg in the Volvo, not too bad I thought, and did some stonking (very safe) overtaking manouvres....Mrs Welly is super-nervous in the car but was impressed how the Volvo 'felt' man enough to get by lorries etc in plenty of time
I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with a mega complicated V6 HDi rappy, plus I'm not convinced these monster Diesels are all that economical
Turbolag had a V6 Diesel but we never heard what it was like - in fact he drives a Petrol last time we heard

IIRC the twin turbo Pug's a 170bhp 2.2 4-cyl, not unlike a DW12.....
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)

I put it down to the heavy body and tried various tyre combos to try and sort the handling when I had mine.
Put quite simply I have a few favourite roads where I would drive my hot hatches. So it was a good bench mark for the coupe I had brown pants on more than one occasion and not really going that fast

If you read the reviews for the coupe they have it bang on great looks great V6 engine not the usual peugeot chassis which I agree.
When I purchased the saloon I was gob smacked how well it went round corners. I think I have said on many occasions the saloon would corner at least 10mph faster than the coupe

Have to say Welly, I love the idea of the T5 engine

Would you say it is as a big as a 406?
Are you still pleased with the Volvo? Also what is the MPG like or are you constantly watching the fuel gauge?

Re: Will you forgive me, I've bought another car...
I would say it's the same size as the 406 but maybe a bit less foot room for the rear seats, actually the rear seats feel the same comfy squishy as the 6's. There's more storage space though, a huge glovebox, two secret stowing compartments and all the seats have netted 'baskets' in front (for your mobile or whatever).rapport25 wrote:Have to say Welly, I love the idea of the T5 engine![]()

Around town it doesn't seem to go below 25mpg I expected the mpg to be worse so it's good really.
I must say I thought I'd miss the 406 more than I actually do
