ignition key
My heater fan stopped werking and then my ignition key got stuck and I could not turn the engin off has enyone had this problem
Re: ignition key
A few people seem to have had this problem. Do a search and you will find something.
Were you wiggling the key to try to get the heater working again?
A good dose of WD40 inside the keyhole sometimes frees up the key, but I think you may need a new ignition barrel.

Re: ignition key
yeah i had this
i replaced the wiring behind the ignition, kept the same keys etc, so dont worry about that
this is a saxo barrel but it looks roughly the same (for illustration purposes) you need to change the wire a and the plastic bit

i did it in about 30 minutes, which included lots of trople checking of everything!
I nicked the wire from a breakers yard

Re: ignition key
*the creamy coloured bit insided the barrel comes out of the barrel, allowing you to keep the same key!
Re: ignition key
Yup happened to me in the petrol station thought my steering column was on fire the mount of smoke coming out!! the thing is my key never got stuck but i replaced all the wiring barrell etc and were all working fine again now
It is just the case of replacing the wire on the back of the barrell!!
