Anyone got any tips on how to grease these bad boys and what to use?
Thanks

Re: Door Hinges
HI,
I use white grease aerosol or copper grease. Make sure you get a can with an extension straw
to get right in, especially the rear door check straps as these have rollers which sieze up rapidly.
Work them back and to a couple of times adding grease as you go.
There's many a 406 taxi with flappy back doors because of this.
My first D8 rear doors had never been opened hardly as it was a company car presumeably
with a 1 only driver as the seats were all perfect except the drivers. It took nearly 2 years of
greasing and everyday useage to get them to work correctly.
Getting the same prob now on my D9 too also.

Yeah, my rear doors groan and complain no matter how much I grease and work the hinges, but again they don't get a whole lot of use

This should help alleviate the situation. Grease those bad boys up before installation and you will certainly have years of trouble free door opening pleasure

Hinges or checkstraps?
I find the best thing to do with hinges, is to spray a good dose of WD40 into the hinge and work the door back and forth until the door feels a little easier, then use some oil on them, working the door back and forth.
As for checkstraps, give them a real good greasing with multipurpose grease and work the door back and forth until you feel a difference, keep lots of grease on the sliding bits and the curved bit and you'll be fine.
The only time I have needed to change the checkstraps is when the strap has actually broken.

Just had one of my rears pop the circlip and roller out due to lack of lube.
stripped it out and carried out a refit and re-grease. All okay :-)
