what mpg do you get??

Post by miniman7 »

My 98 2.1d combined with my lead-lined right foot seems to be giving me about 38mpg.
I've not worked out my mpg since I got the car until now, and have no idea what I should be getting.

Any thoughts?

Sounds about right - the combined consumption figure for a 2.1 is about 39 and with both my recent diesels I have got roughly the combined figure.

I do about 40/50 miles around town a week & 300 main road / motorway commuting and don't have a reputation for dawdling  My 2.2 has averaged 43.5 mpg for the last 3500 miles, (exactly the combined government figure).

2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

sounds good

Having moved to this in February from a 2.5 5-series BMW that did about 22mpg for me, I feel a bit thrown off course.

Realistically, I'm looking at about 47.5mpg with my HDi 90 each on a full tank. Slightly disappointing, but i do a lot of city driving. I know the 110 is much more economical and powerful. I wish i had one.........

full tank on a mapped HDI 90 gets me 50 mpg +/- 1mpg

However if i just top up with £20 when the light comes on i can get over 250miles which is over 55mpg

The average tankful on my 110 hdi gives me between 52 - 55 mpg.

Plenty happy with that. 8)

I'm up to about 25mpg now I've got the new house and less start-stop traffic on the way to work :) It's nice now I'm getting to the petrol station with over 350 miles on the trip counter compared to the 250 before

How big is the tank on the coop?

I usually get 44.8mpg indicated between each fills - manage 740 miles on just over 70L tank (I once filled it with 78L  from very very empty).

Ouch...! I'd be filling this up twice a week with the amount of driving I do!

To be fair, I do tend to stretch its legs a bit on the daily commute  I can still get 45-50mpg on the motorway at 60mph

Do you lot use normal gallons (i.e. 4.546L) as opposed to Americanised ones (3.76L)?
