As you've all noticed, it's saturday... That means no Peugeot service is @ work today & tomorrow
And my car is running right now beside the entrance door to my work place...AND the key won't budge... If I stall it, then it would leave the doors open, the ignition on and i would have no way of securing it when i leave...
WHAT TO DOO

Do you have a spare key somewhere? Not sure of the circs (at work Saturday night?) but you could stall it, disconnect the battery and lock the doors manually. Not good if you have no spare key of course.
I left my car... Let the central-locking lock the doors then disconnected the battery and took out valuable stuff.
Can anybody tell me if a hot key after driving for awhile is bad? Should(why would) the ignition get hot?
Cause had a thought, that maybe the stuck key is somehow connected with the hot ignition lock?
hi there Mathew , i had exactly the same problem with my ignition , when the key
got stuck i stalled the car then sprayed wd 40 around the key and wiggled it till
it came out , hot key is not right it is a sign the ignition barrel and wiring are on
their way out , need to change the ignition switch i'm afraid not a big job but
can be expensive for the part .
This sounds like me saturday! My ignition barrell and surrounding are was smoking, although i can get my key out it doesnt turn properly anymore!
if i turn the car over it just runs and runs theres no srping back anymore i think i can say its the ignition barrell and wiring im currently tracking some down!
Got my car back from the service. Ingnition-lock changed and A/C working like a charm.
It even seems that the studdering and uneven running have gone away Thinking that the "electronic" lock interfired with the cars ECU or something like that
STILL YAAAAY
The doors can be closed now & this thread too
Thanks everybody who read this and helped me Thank you very much

Still have to check the low milage thing. Right now it doesn't look good. The petrol needle is just over the 1/2 a tank mark and i've driven just about 180 km... So let's hope for the best and see if the milage rises
Actually I'm getting worried now. A few times over the last couple of weeks I've finished my journey & the key is hot; also the barrel has been sticky. I've dobbed a bit of graphite oil on the key and jiggled it around in the lock, that seems to have solved it (for now! )

That's eggsactly what happened to me... few weeks the key was hot after a long drive and then it happened key got stuck... and had to change the barrel. Service people ordered the new barrel by the VIN code and it took 2 weeks for it to get here and now the key is cold and no problems
