I think fuel economy is overrated.

Do you lot use normal gallons (i.e. 4.546L) as opposed to Americanised ones (3.76L)?
Thats in normal gallons - That said, I have converted it from L/100km which is the standard measurement here!

Hi There,

Both my 2.0 HDI 110's have been returning about 54mpg on long journeys, on short journeys as long as I dont go into turbo territory too much...that is stay around 2000 rpm mark.... seem to return about 45mpg. As soon as Ive been on turbo warp mode it drops a lot...!...to around 40mpg or less.

Hope this helps

I get 40/41 mpg on my HDi 110

Seems to be over 50 on a long motorway run, but with it's remapped ECU it does get thirsty if I use the lead boot too much :cheesy:

My wife uses £30 of diesel to 280 miles each week (90% motorway miles @ 70mph) in her 406 90 HDi.

My Peugeot Expert van HDi 90 uses £40 for 290 miles.

My Nissan Terrano 4x4 2.7TDi does 200 miles to £40.

My Micra does about 35 MPG town work.

my 2.2 hdi returns 45.6MPG average (combined) all the time without fail on the trips to and from work.

i have on a long journey managed to get just over 50mpg, mainly motorway but also rush hr motorway and bypass which made it even more impressive, once but that was going ultra conservative as i was in no rush to get anywhere.

That's impressive economy. I know it can be done, as the computer on mine showed 45.6 mpg over 6000 miles when I got it.
The best I've achieved over a few tankfuls is 43.5 mpg, before fixing the aircon....

My dad doesn't ever reset the Trip comp in his 2.2 HDi 607 (same DW12 engine as in 406 2.2) and he averages about 41mpg over 5000 miles. But the 607 is much heavier i suppose

My HDI 110 2.0 take about £70 of diesel .. and normally returns between 680 - 750 miles .. thats town / country / dual carriageway but no motorway driving. Its also without aircon (hoping to correct that this week  )

One thing i did notice is that if I run it on a common supermarket diesel where you get points it does significantly less mileage in my experience .. often only 500 - 600 to a tank even with extra additives .. hence i run it purely on Shell diesel .. just the normal stuff .. seems to like it a lot more :cheesy:

I average around 30mpg in my 2.2 sri estate. I get 40mpg everytime I take it on a decent motorway trip which is pretty good considering the engine size.

920 miles and she'll do no more. Personal record. Won't ever beat that again. And before you start matt, there was a lot of city driving thrown in there too. 8)
