My wife wants to replace our 406 Rapier with either a 407 or a Saab 9-3.
Anyone have any experience/opinions on the 407? Good car/ bad car/troublesome? etc.
Any input gratefully received.

That's been reported a lot, from as early as about 30kCaptain Jack wrote:From what I heard, they suffer terribly from premature clutch wear.

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Thanks guys, the clutch thing is known in the trade, strangely, I went to my mot place this morning, they had one in for a clutch with 40,000 miles on.It's a DMF type and the bill will be around £950.
Speaking of clutches, my mate at the mot garage just got a flyer from Puegeot Trade Club....50% off new clutches, I haven't got this flyer yet.
swiss, you are a bad man

I can't foresee a time when I'll be well of enough to buy a new car & fork out on expenses like that!
