Rapier speedo cluster swap

Hi Folks
This prob has allready been done and covered on here but anyways...,ive just replaced my 4 dial basic speedo head on my 99 hdi with a yr 2000/2001 Rapier 5 dial cluster and it look great.plug n play! and it looks sooooo nice and more modern :cheesy ! it has rev counter,speedo,fuel gauge,water temp gauge and oil temp gauge and all with nice chrome ring surrounds.i was suprised the oil temp worked without changing anything under the bonnet.infact everything worked.
Bought item from a scrap yard, it had 77k miles on clock , my original had 137k, i thought it might add the two values together but it just opted for the higher value of 137k.
the same item is for sale atm on fleabay ,a new one at about 135 quid (it says stealer price rrp over 600 quid :O) it doesnt show the oil or water temp gauges because of the way its been photographed..

If anyone wants to do this, be careful to buy the right one, ie diesel ones are different to petrol ones because of the rev counter values etc. !! and i think 99-2001 have two electrical connectors and post 2001 (51 plate on-) have one connector.....mine had two being vintage era.

Heres some pics, note the built in head unit with bluetooth handsfree,dvd,cd,reversing camera,sat nav,and its connected to the pugs standard cd head unit keeping the cd &radio remote control stalk active (and mf screen)
running out of mods now i think my next job is to skin some black rapier seats and reskin the grey ones in black , keeping the armrests and electric operation. its a 1999 406hdi 110 glx which out specs alot of newer cars !

CRuise control
307 gear knob
front floor lights ( std 406 interior lights wired to main light so come on when doors opened and timed fade out with main int light)
extra head unit
auto dipping rear view mirror
leather door cards with sill lights
trip computer
reversing camera ( i can now see my little camping trailer when reversing !)
leather steering wheel
electric seats
& now black leather heated lecy seats all working! -march 2010

Nice modification there mate, i must admit i like the newer style of the instruments especially with the chrome rings round the speedo etc. And a nice touch with the footwell lights, i remember having those on my ford Sierra 2000E. Keep up the good work mate..

how have you wired the after market stero in would be very intrested in how you have done this as i have the same system
