By the way... did anyone with an HDi change any injectors yet? WOnder if this only applies to the 16 valve 2.0 (or am I selling the wrong car?)
And they wonder why I went back to petrol.......

Interesting this, I was wondering why the trade mags were plugging injector removal tools just recently.

I've had lots of junk mail regarding these removal tools, I guess it must be a problem that has recently surfaced, I and a lot of others hadn't heard of these problems. Frightening really

406 HDIs are 8 valve, aren't they? Only the 2.2 HDI is 16 valve.

Mine is definitely 8 valve (DW10), I think the 2.2 is 16 valve, not seen one yet.

I did hear that early 16v HDi's had occasional issues with loose injectors & Pug were increasing the recommended torque setting.

Looks like they Fixed it

As I see it there's 3 possibilities:

It affects all 16v HDis - in which case I should be worried
It affects post 2003 HDis - in which case Steve should be worried :|
It affects post 2003 16v HDis / 16v 2.0 HDis - in which case we can all pat ourselves on the back :P
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

I'd jump at that (key for key they call it here) but he wants 8k from me, that's 4 plus my heap I guess.

Hmm, 4x4, tiptronic auto, leather, cruise etc. etc. Shame about the 34mpg. Ooh looky - "prepared for mobile phone", i.e. holes all over the dash for something 10 years out of date, there's no mention of the mileage either. Nah, stuff your over-priced panzer.

Must have a squint at mine, things are getting decidedly wobbly :( Nice to hear your HDi sounds like a bag of spanners too.

All diesels clatter, more so when cold. This is normal.
