need to change the fuel pump/sender unit on my 2001 90bhp hdi estate - although there is an inspection cover under the rear seat it looks a bit too small to remove the pump - is that correct and if so any probs removing tanks from underneath?
cheers

Re: replacing fuel pump/sender on hdi
hi rob , it is possible to do it through the inspection hatch i did it . I wasn't
prepared to drop the tank so i removed the cover there is a ridged ring around
the outside this will be tight , there is a special tool for this but you can use something
like the large grips used to remove oil filters . When loose there's apparently a way
of wiggling it out , i cheated and used pliars with cloth in the jaw to gently bend the
metal up just enough to allow me to lift the pump out .
