Ok, after spending a good hour or so faffing I found the following.

1) The rubber O-ring actually fits snugled around the body of the fuel filter housing just above the threads.

2) There was one already fitted, I just didnt see it (or look tbh) for it be in that place.

3) So its fine and was air tight.

4) Its a bloody pain getting that lid sqaure.

It's running fine, idle is spot on so I assume everything is fine.

It does seem to be getting a little bit better and doesn't start any worse then the misses 90HDi.

Next on the list for next months pay is Drop links & possibly new front discs and pads depending on cost.
