Zorst problem

I think mine is blowing from the flexible section of the downpipe. Now due to the wonders of the FAP system, I can't just go for an aftermarket jobbie. (Been researching FAP removal and I'm nearly ready to take the plunge, but not quite yet).

The front section of the egg sauce, (which includes the cat,but not the FAP), is a real bargain....

Now I know there are alternatives, I can get a complete system from Online Automotive for example, (for £440), but that means buying another FAP :evil: If I just get the front bit, it's still £380! Not sure if that includes the FAP too - if it does, I don't want it, if it doesn't I can't be sure it'll match up with mine. :x

Anybody know of a way to replace just the flexible?

Take it to an exhaust specialist and get them to weld you a new flexi section in?

Crossed my mind too, but do you know anyone you would trust to do it?

Around my way there are a few exhaust people that I know who I'd take it to. Best bet would be to get it done at an exhaust place like Powerflow or the like so you can take it back if they don't do the job properly.

You can buy flexi sections that are slotted at either end. i.e. cut out your old flexi and slot the new section over the two cut sections,if that makes any sense.
You will need to know the length of the meshy bit the total length of your repair piece including mesh and the internal bore size you will need.Slot them over and clamp up and away you go.WARNING do not put any exhaust paste on exhaust pieces before the cat!!! It can get sucked in and bugger the cat within a couple of miles.
