Engine management light.

Post by safariman72 »

Due to a faulty reading on the fuel guage my 90 hdi ran out of diesel. Would this cause the engine management light to come ?

The car seems to be working fine apart from this.

Thanks.

Ginge.

Have a search around here - I'm fairly sure I read about someone else with the same issue and it cleared after a few day's normal running.

If your car's behaving otherwise, I'd wait and see. Many faults do clear themselves, but need a few drives without the fault condition, to go away.

There's nothing quite like an Engine light to strike fear into one's soul  :(

Running out of Diesel flags a 'low fuel rail pressure' fault which corrects itself.
