On my 110 HDi, there is a stray wire. It is long, thin, and black.
It seems to come out of the loom - on the passenger end of the cylinder head, just underneith what I am guessing is the coolant temp sensor screwed in the head.
The wire was crudely routed along to the fuse/relay box, was not inside it, just stopped short. There is no plug on it, and the end has been slightly stripped.
Any ideas at all where this goes? Obviously a lose wire on the loom may be putting my engine light on!

Re: Stray loom wire
There was common fix in the early days of HDi's where the earth wire from the MAF and throttle pot would be separated to give a better earth and to stop it flagging the engine light - I'm not saying this is it but it might be worth checking out! and to be fair I think this earthing modification found it's way back the the ECU end on the left hand side
