I was the Senior Buyer for a big construction company in Manchester, then the credit crunch came along,goodbye contracts, goodbye job ,

so now I've retrained as an English as a Foreign Language teacher and moved to Poland with my wife (she is a native Jam) and 2 year old son, the 406 did an admirable job of getting us here.

I'm doing consultancy and work based learning, mostly quality, lean manufacturing and environmental stuff with a bit of IT, health & safety and customer service thrown in for good measure, I deliver NVQs & modern aprenticeships and some other qualifications. I used to work as a Quality Engineer in manufacturing, then worked for a training company run by lunatics, then went self employed for a while, and now I've joined a new training company as a director, so it's been an interesting few years. I'm also at college doing a PGCE at the moment. Hope it settles down a bit soon, I'm knackered!

Prior to that I've installed and piloted a deep diving ROV (6000 metres), been a test engineer on electronic systems of all sorts from the early 70's, designed and built and supported hooge database applications and whatnot, been a milkman, done telephone software support, was at Abbey Road for a brief while as an apprentice, worked on CCTV and broadcast TV systems, CATV in the early days, the first CITRAC system, repaired and installed pc's and all sorts of 'tronic stuff from 140ohm balanced line measuring sets to 350kVa alternator sets and 250 HP haydraulics, programmed motorola 68xx, zilog z80, intel 8080, 8085, 80286, 80386 processors in assembler, sure I've forgotten something or other...

Brainstorming project bid's in red team environment... ahh... it's all bollocks if it doesn't win. If it does you're a super hero

Now I'm a middle aged git struggling to just pay the sodding bills 'cause I'm seen as over experienced and inflexible - probably true actually, but I can keep me mouth shut. Even with edited and tailored CV's as soon as they see me I'm fuc@+d.

Hobbies? Miniature railway engines up to about 15 inch gauge, fire and drive 'em (since 1980), fix 'em if I can.

Im a third year Media Production (quiet voice) student at the University of Sunderland, and technical operator for Sky Sports at the Stadium of Shi... Light. Training to be a camera operator in studio production or outside broadcast (whoever pays me more)
