not siure which section to post this in soplease move if needed.
i have a 2001 SRi estate. whenn i bought it, the ening management light was on and the previous owner said it was due to the rear lambda sensor needing replacing.
i changed it today for a bosch genuine sensor (steered clear of the universal ones), left the battery disconnected for over an hour but when started, the car still shows the light on the dash.
how can i clear it? and if it is still on, does that mean the car will still run as if the old sensor is still there?

Re: Engine Management error light resetting
Might take some "fault free" starts for the light to go out, I've heared anything from 3 to 10 mentioned. To reset the engine management you need access to a code reader.

Cannock eh? If you can make it up to stoke area some time (not this week) I can plug my lexia in, clear the codes and check for anything else
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

There is a socket to the right of the steering wheel and its behind what looks like a series of blank switches. You can prise out the larger blank (socket cover) with a key in the gap between the smaller blank and the larger blank.
