2.2 sri error code help - UPDATE

Post by no2lurch »

i bought a code reader for my sri and when i used it earlier it fails to delete the codes.

i get the following codes:

-P0141 - O2 sensor heater circuit manfunction (bank 1 sensor 2)
-P0136 - O2 sensor circuit manfunction (bank 1 sensor 2)
-P1621 - not covered in the manual

now i've changed the lambda sensor which is the reason i want to clear the codes (leaving battery disconnected didnt work) but the code reader just fials to delete.

anyone able to help?

anyone in the cannock area and want to have a try?

Maybe your code reader is not suitable for your car.

I can see why you are getting cheesed off, could it be a faulty code reader?

well i had one last go this morning and it only deleted the codes! bloody thing.

i text the previous owner yesterday too and he said it took a few attempts to do.

i put this down to the reader being a cheaper type off ebay as opposed to the megger bucks ones available. its cleared them now so i'm happy.

more importantly, in the 25 miles i drove to work, the light didnt come back on!

Good news so. Just remember that if the light does come on again, you need to get it looked at. Deleting the codes doesnt delete the problem

Any code reader Ive used before takes a few attempts. I usually clear it, wait ten seconds, turn off ignition for 30 seconds, turn on again and its usually gone

i know what you mean about deleting the codes doesnt delete the problem - the codes have been addressed and both lambda sensors have been changed so they should not reappear.
