Couldn't really say whether it's worth it or not on an estate, but the coupe V6 one will fit the turrets and should clear your engine, although I couldn't guarantee it. I've got one fitted on my 98 2.1TD. Make sure you get the slightly longer bolts with the brace though.

Demon tweeks do a front upper strut brace for the HDI made by OMP, for £58. I'll get one in the next mounth, but am also getting a lower one made to bolt onto the subframe horns that project forward, and one for the rear that can be removed easily as its an estate aswell. Just want the hadling better. But I think its worth it bud, it'll tighten up the fron end alot

Re: Strut brace on an estate
I've just bought one from Ade on the 406 coupe club for my saloon - hopefully there won't be too many problems fitting.

Re: Strut brace on an estate
Just fitted the strut brace to my saloon (took me all of 10 minutes, in the car park at work, using a Halfords ratchet socket wrench and 3/8" inch T50 torx bit) and the drive home was so damned fun
Fast cornering without the whole car lurching into a roll = fun!
Thinking about slightly stiffer/possibly slightly lower suspension as a means to improve handling, but that has to wait - need a new exhaust, tax disc due this month, and have the 12,000 mile service within the next 30 - 60 days too...
no2lurch - any 406 brace will work. HimBigChief has one from a coupe on his D8 saloon, I now have one from a coupe (which had previously been on a D8 saloon belonging to Mountain) on my D9 saloon. The bonnet and suspension struts are the same on the D9 saloon and estates. Whichever 406 strut brace you can get should fit just fine.

Mine had no problem fitting at all; it's a snug fit, right enough, but there's just enough clearance for the brace.

Ah, but that's because you bought it off someone who fitted a coupe one to their saloon, and got some help from his mate Mr H. Ammer alreadyhighlander wrote:Mine had no problem fitting at all; it's a snug fit, right enough, but there's just enough clearance for the brace.

Re: Strut brace on an estate
Been meaning to try mine out since fitting it just over a week ago.
Was peeing it down, and on the wet roundabouts the difference is very significant - previously, I just thought the tyres were poor in the rain, but now you could push a lot harder, with little hint of understeer - not that I intend on finding the limits, but at £15, it's nice piece of mind for better handling "should" I require it.
