Bloody hell, the scratcher needs to wake up and smell the coffee the world doesn't owe HIM a living - it's tough out there and whoever makes the most effort wins........

Wow! A story Steven King would be proud of!

Do you work with the keyer?

Did you buy the car privately?

If it is him that did it, then yes I do. I never bought the car, I'm just restoring it so the next full time driver who gets in it will hopefully have a trouble free drive.
I treat other people's cars how I would like mine to be treated - I may be guilty sometimes of driving "naughtily" but would never push any car above its limits and am used to nursing OAPs around, I once had the dubious pleasure of nursing a mondeo with a leak so bad it needed a litre every few hours, no heating and had to drive with gloves on, and it drank petrol like you wouldn't believe. Oh and the suspension was non-existent. All in a night's work, really 8)

Par for the course with Fords, from previous experience.

My last Ford I had to use 1950s style hand signals because it had no right hand lights. Even the Pug COM2000 units aren't that bad!

I can see where you're coming from, if it is a small organisation. Similar to what I have seen old computers getting reconditioned for use as servers, makeshift routers / training etc.
Fair play to you, better renewing the old cars than just outright scrappage and buying a new fleet car.
I hate waste, consumer driven society loves destroying the old.

When I parked it up last weekend it had 499876 on the clock.
When I started work again on Sunday morning I found it had been working over the weekend and done about 250.
Someone had taken it through 500,000
(Thats km btw, but not bad for under 4 years old)
