Those stupid auto wipers

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

I still like control over what the wipers are doing, not whenever they feel like it's damp outside. Same goes for Slushmatic© gearboxes which are always in the wrong gear.....

Never really driven a Merc or a DSG VAG car, so can't comment. But every other one I've driven is as horrible as the next auto...

My uncles toyota previa does a good job of it, and the chrysler voyager before it was always good.
except for the fact his wife used the car on the motorway, cruise control on, listening to bananarama quite loud, the car jammed in a low gear and revved for about 30mins on the limiter, ruined the engine

I had a Toyota Avensis back in 2003 as a company car for a very short amount of time. It was an auto and it was awful. I would have rather walked.....

I have had nothing but great service from mine i can only describe them as perfect in all conditions.
The sensor area not being clean does effect them as expected.

I must say the 406 ones were far superior to my Volvo ones (which are completely dim-witted).

That's cos they have to do a risk assessment before each wipe.
