Re: New Mounts

Did you ask them to change the mount when they did the clutch?

There is no reason to change the mount unless you told them to.

It's fairly straightforward to change the bottom mount....

Undo the driveshaft nut, remove the 2 bolts in the inner bearing carrier, take out the bottom ball joint.

Get something under the gearbox where the driveshaft fits in the diff, knock out the driveshaft from the hub and pull it out of the gearbox.

Take off all the mounting bolts from the bottom stabiliser bar and remove the mounting bolts from the engine.

Take the whole mount frame to a garage or engineer and have the old one pressed out and the new one pressed in.

Refit the lower mount assembly to the engine and fit the stabiliser bar.

Refit the driveshaft to the gearbox, refit the bolts into the bearing carrier, refit the driveshaft into the hub assembly and fit the ball joint.

Refit the nut on the driveshaft and tighten to correct torque, refit the holding pin.

Fill the gearbox with the oil that drained out, through the reverse light switch hole on top of the gearbox.
