4'6.
They find a cloud machine that is assimilating entire solar systems. Intrigued, they explore it.
The AI identifies itself as 4'6.
At the very centre is a D9. The '0' in the badge was knocked off by an asteroid impact.
Turns out an advanced cyborg alien civilisation find a 406, they deconstruct the machine to find it it's purpose in life and believe it to be:
ANTI-POLLUTION FAULT
So they reconstruct the AI such that it will travel the universe, gathering as much as it can to solve the Anti-Pollution Fault that it's creator programmed it to have.
It did not believe that in fact originally programmed by Humans, and was ready to destroy Earth. It was only when a human mechanic demonstrated that it could clean the FAP and the MAF, that the fault went away, the 4'6 was initially dissapointed, but then reconciled itself with a new mission. It speculated that the left hand indicator came on after a right hand turn because this was a signal of peace to all civilisations, so next time you see a flickering star in the sky, it is 4'6 with the broken Com2000 signalling that is will no longer consume all in the universe.
