the ebay ones are clones / copys but they do the job perfect for 12 months. if you prefere to pay "dealer" prices then so be it but you will still be changing them again in 12 months time with the state of todays roads
The dealers hopefully get them from the same manufacturer that they used 10-15 or so years ago in France/Italy when building the cars - the same parts that (according to the service history on all my previous 406s) seem to last for the first 10 years or so of the car's life.

Has anyone got an invoice showing a replacement front drop link within the first 8 years?

I've tried about 4-5 different brands from all the factors around here and not found any that last. I'm sure you can buy the exact same part as the OEM one in a different coloured box from a factor for half the price, but I've not found it yet.

To test my hypothesis, I'll put my money where my mouth is and buy my next ones from the dealer - I haven't looked up prices, but I suspect the break-even point over the cheapies will be if the dealer parts can last about 2.5 years. *IF* they last, I'll be recommending them until I'm blue in the face

BTW, top engine mounts from the dealers are the only ones I've found which do actually last over a year while supporting a V6 :P
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
