I don't have any diagrams for a D8 but there's some fuse layouts in the link above.
If you blew the bake light fuse (didn't somebody - Doggy? - say there's more than one?) poking around in the light connector then that points to the bulb holders themselves.
brake lights stopped[get it] working.

right iam winning
found out that fuse 11 works the left hand brake light and center one and fuse 12 does the right hand one[under the dash]
so fuse 12 was blown from when i was pokeing about so replaced that which got power back at cable 6 [why are fuses so difficult to check to see if they are blown?] but still no brake lights. knowing that the left was on a seprate system to the right i replaced my new bulb that i replaced the other day with another new bulb and it works
.i then but my known working bulb into the right hand side and still nothing.i then opened the scotch lock that was on cable 6 and tested it and had power on both sides of it and trailer board working,so couldnt work it out so took the scotch lock off and binned it.rejoined the wires and
it works.put a scotch lock on for my trailer lights and that works as well,so not sure of the fault but its working.
well at the start i said i was winning the reason for this was last night while i was out the left hand headlight on dipped beam started flashing for some reason.
dont you just love french electrics.

Unless it left the factory with a towbar, you can't really pin this on our Gallic cousins. The headlight maybe, but the rest sounds like inappropriate use of scotchlocks to me.....omega wrote:dont you just love french electrics.
FWIW doing anything other than throwing it in the bin is an inappropriate use of a scotch lock, IMPO
Glad to hear you've got it sorted.
