Ditto; you're a respected regular.DaiRees wrote:Hope you're gonna stick around mate.

The last car I had was a MK1 Peugeot 106 1.5 diesel, owned 3 and a half years, the second longest out of
about 25 cars I've owned. Super economical, fun to drive. When someone crashed into it this time last year,
the insurers loaned me a Toyota Aygo ( Citroen C1/ Peugeot 107).. 3-cylinder, loved the engine note, nice to
drive except for lateral pitching when going over a bad bump at high speed.., the Achilles heel of 'town cars'.
And yet, the fuel consumption didn't seem up to the great claims of the manufacturer. And neither was another
3-cylinder car, a hired Polo that I had for a day.
With my 2000 HDI Exec.., 50+ mpg just knocking around is rather easy..,
Difficult one.
That's low, my 2.5 petrol turbo never drops below 23mpg no matter what I throw at it and on a run I can get 36mpg fairly easily. I'd say yours would benefit from an injector clean and possible a new MAF meter. I'm having my injectors cleaned in April just for good measure.plod wrote:The mondingo is a nice car to drive, but, i'm avering 17-20mpg around town, and best i've had was 32mpg on a run

It's not got the grunt of my remapped hdi either, so lose lose situation for me.
Plus paying for the mondingo is crippling me, and when it comes round to taxing it, it will be dearer as well.
Yep, something to be said for the old 406
Hindsight is a beautiful thing, and kinda wished i'd put a new starter motor on it, and worked out the other little issues.
Yes it wanted £200 spending on it ideally, but compared to the £300 a month i'm laying out for the mondingo, and extra fuel, i'd be quids in at the mo!
