Not that bad at all really - apart from that nose - I thought the French were good at styling stuff nut, between this and the current range of wide-mouthed frog Pugs, I reckon they should give up.
On the subject of the electric car here is a good documentary about them:

That's a bit of an eye opener, but then anything that's in any way ecological by way of transport in the US is usually killed off rather quickly by the oil and automobile industries. So, battery technology is there, still rather expensive (as the Renault's 22k of leased batteries) but not necessarily just a couple of trips to the shops and you're screwed. I also didn't realise how far hydrogen fuel cells are from affordability. It's all to do with zero emissions, perhaps they could, you know, burn the stuff in an internal combustion engine :? Or were they serious about containment?

Anyway, I guess we shouldn't kid ourselves that were not going to end up eventually driving around in stupid-looking little cars running on alternative technology because greed is going to make fossil fuels unaffordable to the masses long before it runs out :(

I don't want this to happen

... but I don't mind this so much.

Car designers - please take your alternative technology and put it in car designs which you already produce. Stop lumping cool hybrid technology, hydrogen fuel cells, and batteries into "radical new designs" because these "radical new designs" look REALLY f*cking STUPID. I want to drive a beautiful sporty-looking car with sporty performance. I know that electric motors can produce that performance (see: Tesla Roadster), and I know car designers can produce beautiful cars (see: most Pininfarina designs), so why do they all end up looking like they've already been involved in some sort of hideous accident (see: Renault Twizy, G-Wiz i, Mitsubishi i-MiEV)???

I quite like the idea of driving a car powered by electricity, it would be nice to have a car that doesnt sound like a tractor as most diesels no matter how advanced still do.
but as you say its the goofy designs that put me off. The fluence ZE, and the vauxhall ampera are the most acceptable looking cars so far:
