What I have is actually Diagbox, I think PP2000 is the older stuff.

I can run the Diagbox on windows 7 64 bit, but it will only read my 407, nothing else.

After several failed attempts at trying to get the software to load on windows 7 virtual 32 bit by my son we have decided to use xp on a seperate laptop.

Fortunately for me my son went to visit friends nearby who just happened to have a spare laptop lying around getting in the way so they gave it to me.

My son is going to install xp on it this afternoon when he is free and load the diagbox onto there, hopefully it will work properly then....we'll see.

It's handy having a son who is a Microsoft licenced developer

It seems that with this later version of PP2000 (diagbox) you need windows 7, 32 bit or xp.

But preferably it works on XP.. I need an XP laptop then if I am going to get one too

It doesn't seem to matter if it's xp /xp pro or windows 7 but it must be 32 bit to work properly or so we have found & been advised, also have been advised that xp pro work's best & make sure it's a fresh install. Oh & you need the patiance of a saint

Ah, right, so I use another hard drive when using the older version?

I can use an older version of the software to run the PP2000 programme and the interface will still connect to the older cars and work with the same drivers?

I think so. It seems the interface automatically 'synchs' itself with the version of PP2000 in use and presumably does the same for Diagbox.
