When you set the alarm (with the internal ultrasonics enabled) there's a 45 second delay before they're made active...so that's why your frantic arm waving did nothing Sonia!
The red LED is integral on the button with the O))) symbol on it.
Has someone put your ESP button in the wrong place..?? Mine is by the EODB port...
I will see if my alarm button illuminates after 45 seconds, never really tried it out.

He's a sparky... He's probably moved it... just like his rear quarter(s) actually open...... You'd be amazed at what he's done to his!
Mark, does this red line stay on whilst the car is locked IF it is active... I must admit with any pressings of my button I've not seen it light up........

This is one of the few switches I haven't moved!!
Down by the Diag skt is where my cruise master switch used to reside.......that's now on the centre console where I can actually see the bluddy thing and the passenger air bag disable is where that was....as I never use it.

It should go solid red (not flashing) when you press it after switching off to disable the ultrasonics, then after a set time (dunno how long) it reverts to the normal flashing.
