A plant. Used in herbal medicine and also homeopathy.

Anti-inflammatory, and for reduction of bruising.

Yep, I've only seen it as a homeopathic remedy, my wife used it before and after her last two ops and it really sped up the recovery time.

Your wife is very good - I would have drawn some big eyes and a mouth on your belly to make a great photo...

All joking aside - good luck for tomorrow. don't forget some pennies for the TV/radio bedside thingy. Look after yourself and let your missus look after you when you get home - these ops are straightforward but as I said before, take your time to recover or you will be back to square one.

P.s. I quite like the wallpaper behind you...

What is that actually bulging out? Your intestines?

One of the subcontractors I worked with a few months ago had a hernia and his bowel would pop out now and again and he's push it back in

Right i'm home and apart from a scare with my blood pressure being sky high (nerves) and them saying if it didnt drop there would be no operation, luckily it dropped and the op went ahead as planned, so apart from some pain/discomort but not much all seems well.
Because of its size they have fitted me with a kind of hernia belt/corset thingy that i need to wear for a few weeks but thats no biggy, i've had a quck look at the scar and it runs up from my bellybutton(yep i got one again) about 5-6 inches so i'm chuffed with that as when all recovered it should be barely visible.

Thanks for all the well wishes guys 8)

Yes Sam i think it was my intestines

Well 6 days after surgery and all seems to be going well, the pain is getting less every day but tbh it hasn't been as bad as i thought it might, getting up and down is painful but when im up/down its fine. There is an amount of bruising around the area but all in all i'm happy so far.
